Est. 2001 · Our story

Deaf-led, from the very start.

The Deaf Counseling Center was founded on a simple truth: Deaf people deserve therapy in their own language, with someone who truly understands their world — not through an interpreter, and not adapted as an afterthought.

2001Established — the first telehealth counseling for the Deaf community
25 yrsServing the Deaf community nationwide
50States — care that comes to you, in ASL
10+Deaf therapists, all fluent in ASL

Why it matters

Direct communication changes therapy. When nothing is lost in translation, trust builds faster and the work goes deeper — and healing follows. That's the difference a Deaf-led practice makes, and it's the reason we do this work.

We were the first to bring telehealth counseling to the Deaf community, back in 2001. Two decades on, that same belief still guides everything: therapy should meet Deaf people where they are, in the language they think and feel in.

What makes us different

01

Deaf therapists, not interpreters

Every clinician here is Deaf and signs fluently in ASL. You talk to your therapist directly — nothing is filtered, softened, or lost in translation.

02

Shared lived experience

Our therapists know Deaf identity, culture, and community from the inside. That shared understanding lets trust build faster and the work go deeper.

03

Care that comes to you

Secure video therapy across all 50 states. No interpreter to book, no waiting room, no travel — just your therapist, in your language, wherever you are.
